Veronica Garcia and Carolyn Bell, Pioneer Bank team members, present ‘Money Smart’ to students at University High School.  Pioneer Bank reaches out to students to teach principles of money management, which includes how to use money wisely, how to save money, and how to make their money work for them so they will become productive and independent adults.

Money Smart is a comprehensive financial education curriculum designed to help low- and moderate-income individuals outside the financial mainstream enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships. Money Smart has reached over 3 million consumers since 2001. Research shows that the curriculum can positively influence how consumers manage their finances, and these changes are sustainable in the months after the training.

Pioneer Bank also sponsors ‘Banzai’, a financial literacy program in the local middle schools.  Pioneer Bank is a community bank that realizes the success of students is critical.  We hope to help them reach a financially secure future.
