Summary:

Opens and closes all types of savings and transaction accounts.  Transfers funds between accounts. Answers inquires and prepares correspondence on matters related to customer accounts.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years experience in customer service relations
  • Basis computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to represent the bank positively in dealing with customer/teller transactions.
  • One to two years of job-related experience helpful.
  • 10-key calculator by touch.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard.
  • Ability to read / legibly write up documents for customers.
  • Capability to relate to and empathize with other people and to maintain a friendly, cheerful demeanor throughout the day.

Specific Job Functions:

  • Represents the bank to the customer in a courteous and professional manner, provides prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
  • Capability to relate to and empathize with other people and to maintain a friendly, cheerful  demeanor throughout the day.
  • Cross-sells bank’s products and services as appropriate.
  • Advises customers of status of accounts and answers questions.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of the customer service department’s policies and procedures.
  • Answers telephone and written inquiries concerning savings, certificate and checking accounts and can provide other account information.
  • Offers a Tell-Friend Coupon with an enthusiastic comment or explanation with every transaction.
  • Recommend the best checking account to customers by using the sales presentation process and asking for the business.
  • Utilize the HPC incentives to attract new customers (frees gifts, buy-back program).
  • Identify sales opportunities at the teller line and at the drive-thru and make professional referrals to other team members.
  • Wear your HPC button daily.
  • Assist with creating Thank You Gift displays.
